I’m so done with …
… The Olympics in China. All these stories I hear about China evicting Darfur activists, limiting internet coverage to the press, and telling restaurant owners not to serve blacks and mongolians because they are likely to commit crimes. It’s a joke. China was a joke before this, but for the IOC to take the almighty dollar and go against everything the Olympics stood for to reward this joke of a country makes the Olympics look even more like the corrupt prostitute-schtupping ace-holes that they were.
I mean, the Olympics has already jumped the shark. You can’t watch the cool stuff live. You have to sit through these silly worthless vignettes. And the guys who call the sports a lot of times don’t know anything about them because they don’t usually cover them (basketball, soccer, handball, etc.) and/or don’t care to do anything other than read the scripts.
I mean, I’m as sick of ESPN’s Favre-center as the rest of humanity, but this Olympic fortnight will not make up for it in the slightest. I hope USA Basketball wins close games and I hope Powell and Bolt do well for Jamaica and I hope McBride and Messi score goals in bunches, but as for the rest of it? The Archery? The BMX? The Hurdles? I’ll read the recap on ESPN.com or some blog or something. I’m so done with the Olympics and I will not support NBC’s communist-supporting coverage.
