Best. Daily Show Segment. Ever. Geraldo Rivera’s now the Pope Leo at a news network of Huns.

Loved the Martha Stewart trial memories with the waving of the red scarves. That should have been the warning that the global markets were about to crash.

Did Glenn Beck rape and murder a young girl in 1990?

Did Glenn Beck rape and murder a young girl in 1990?

This site exists to try and help examine the vicious rumour that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young girl in 1990. We don`t claim to know the truth — only that the rumour floating around saying that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young girl in 1990 should be discussed. So we`re going to do our part to try and help get to the bottom of this. Why won`t Glenn Beck deny these allegations? We`re not accusing Glenn Beck of raping and murdering a young girl in 1990 – in fact, we think he didn`t! But we can`t help but wonder, since he has failed to deny these horrible allegations. Why won`t he deny that he raped and killed a young girl in 1990?” Naturally, the site contains a disclaimer that declares the site satire. Conspiracy-monger Glenn Beck, however, isn`t laughing; so far, his lawyers have sent two letters to the domain registrar demanding that the site be removed due to defamation. No lawsuit has been brought yet, and no doubt Beck`s lawyers know how difficult it is to win such a case when the alleged victim is a public figure. Is anyone surprised that Beck has developed a remarkably thin skin when his own dirty tactics are used against him? After all, the site only asks why Beck has not denied the allegations, and encourages people to call in to his radio show demanding to know why, making dishonest insinuations just like Beck does every day (that is, when he isn`t declaring his hatred for 9/11 victims or fantasizing about murdering Michael Moore). Beck`s immediate action to censor a law-abiding citizen just seeking the truth raises an important question: What is Glenn Beck hiding?

Personally, I think he did, I just wish I could prove it! Maybe Orly Taitz can help.

Tea Party Theft: How The GOP Robbed Libertarians!

You didn’t think that Republicans had a masterstroke of thought, did you? Call it the Piracy of ideas. They steered their privateering ship up to the SS Libertarian and pillaged and plundered the idea booty of Captain Ron Paul. Argh!!

Tax Protest Origins: Ron Paul Supporters Make Case On “Rachel Maddow” (VIDEO)

Who invented this Tea Party stuff, anyway? Glenn Beck? Rick Santelli? Twinings? The matter is up for dispute. Serious dispute. In fact the dispute over who invented the tea party may be a more serious and substantive dispute than anything that will actually be disputed at the Tea Parties themselves.

On the Rachel Maddow Show Tuesday night, Maddow explained the burgeoning teabaggy rift that’s emerged within the teabaggers. On one side: RON PAUL SUPPORTERS! They were going to float around the country on a blimp and drop tea into Boston harbor. On the other side: a special Astroturf comprised of Newt Gingrich and Fox News and Dick Armies.

YouTube – Rachel Maddow: Tea Parties and Ron Paul

It’s Paul’s supporters who most strenuously claim ownership, and they largely feel that their great works have been co-opted by the GOP. Maddow quotes libertarian activist Jason Pye, who griped to the Washington Independent thusly:

Bringing in someone like [Newt] Gingrich takes away from the message…Newt Gingrich enabled George W. Bush…he enabled the big spending. He lobbied conservative Republicans to compromise their principles and support Medicare Part D. He supported the bailout.”

So how did the tea parties go? Swimmingly. It was a motley mix of anti-fascists, anti-socialists, anti-immigrationists, anti-inclusivists, and anti-taxists but all anti-Obamists. And the publicity-seeking TV pundits and politicians to whom they owe their relevance. Check out the pictures from DC:

There was even a Tea Party here – although not a big one. It was three dudes. At the post office. In Spanish. I wonder if those anti-Immigration dudes in DC would approve.

Miami Tea Party

And as I drove by to mail my taxes, I felt solidarity with the movement. No taxation without representation … that we voted for! I wonder if, given that, I could have not paid my taxes under the 8 years of Bush because I didn’t vote for him! Or if, in the future, I should protest the government policies of the governments I don’t vote for using mob-rallying hyperbole? Wouldn’t be America if I didn’t! These people better be glad ol’ Dick Cheney’s out of office – he wouldn’t have any of this protest shit going on under his watch.

Offshore Tax Havens: A State-By-State Breakdown Of The Cost To Taxpayers

A Senate report estimated in 2008 that the United States loses up to $100 billion a year in tax revenue to offshore tax havens (PDF). In a report released Wednesday, the U.S. Public Interest Research Group offers a state-by-state breakdown of the cost to taxpayers of tax revenue lost to “shell companies and sham headquarters” in places like Switzerland and the Cayman Islands.

The practice soaks dutiful taxpayers in every state for hundreds of millions of dollars, according to U.S. PIRG. The citizens of New York and Texas shoulder over $8 billion a year, and the good people of California are on the hook for an extra $11 billion.

but it’s awesome that Fox News (and no doubt Lipton) is coming up with brilliant ideas to punk people into protest.

Million Man March – nice one.

Ba-Rap Obama

PREZ ZINGS GOP FOE IN A $TIMULATING TALK – New York Post

WASHINGTON — President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.

“There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats,” the official said. “We shouldn’t let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done.”

That wasn’t Obama’s only jab at Republicans today.

In an exchange with Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) about the proposal, the president shot back: “I won,” according to aides briefed on the meeting.

“I will trump you on that.”

Not that Obama was gloating. He was just explaining that he aims to get his way on stimulus package and all other legislation, sources said, noting his unrivaled one-party control of both congressional chambers.

Ba-Rap Obama (with apologies to

Shaq O’Neal)

Wasilla Hillbillies Steal Clothes, Clueless on NAFTA, Think Africa Is A Country

What a great article – found on Eddie’s page. There are lots of other interesting tidbits but the highlight is here:

Highlights: Newsweek’s Special Election Project | Newsweek Politics: Campaign 2008 | Newsweek.com

NEWSWEEK has also learned that Palin’s shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported. While publicly supporting Palin, McCain’s top advisers privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy. One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family—clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent “tens of thousands” more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,” and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.

you have to take it with a grain of salt, surely, but it’s still fun. I love that some of the clothes were “lost” – yeah – cuz I’ve used that excuse too! hahah. Also fun is this FOX NEWS report about Palin not knowing that Africa was a continent. Are you kidding me? Sure explains the Couric interview … and how Alaskans re-elected Ted Stevens.

Other highlights: McCain aides wanted to tell McCain that it was over before the last debate. Pain ran with the Ayers attack before the campaign approved it. McCain’s campaign was planning but scrapped a soft-on-crime Willie Horton ad as well as a “dancing with a lesbo” ad with footage from Ellen. Obama had to be convinced not to consider Hillary for VP. Hillary was on better terms with McCain than with Obama. And my favorite:

At the GOP convention in St. Paul, Palin was completely unfazed by the boys’ club fraternity she had just joined. One night, Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter went to her hotel room to brief her. After a minute, Palin sailed into the room wearing nothing but a towel, with another on her wet hair. She told them to chat with her laconic husband, Todd. “I’ll be just a minute,” she said.

Oh yeah, daddy! That’s what I call a serious debriefing.

Terrorist Fist Jab?

Apparently none of these people ever watch anything remotely involving people under 30 years old – like professional or college sports!!!

Terrorist Fist Jab

During the June 6 edition of Fox News’ America’s Pulse, host E.D. Hill teased an upcoming discussion by saying, “A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems to interpret differently.”

The E. D. stands for Extreme Dumbfuck. Or maybe it should be S.P. for Subtle Propaganda. Apparently the way they make light of this is part of a greater plan to continue to paint Obama as a foreigner – a Muslim, if you will. Nice try, Fidel. The people who actually believe shit like this and the Rachel Ray terrorist scarf crap should be sent to Fallujah as human shields.

Taken Out Of Context

Not that those with critical thinking skills and some understanding of the African American experience couldn’t already figure this out, but it’s amazing how controversial people sound when you conveniently leave out the context in which they make statements … especially when those statements are paraphrased and especially when you have an agenda to push. You know – like Sean Hannity’s Neo Nazi sympathizer agenda (allegedly):
