Much thanks to Myk for inspiring this blog from his National Favorite 80 Movie’s Theme song Day entry. Not being a big movie guy - especially from the 80’s - the first thing I thought of was that very special episode of Family Ties - no not the one where a drunk Tom Hanks plays the 12-step uncle or when Mallory crams for a test and starts repeating Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Aparatus or even the one where Alex bags his interview to Princeton to console his sister after she found her away-at-college boyfriend was 2 timing her. Yes I watched that show a lot.

No, I’m talking about the Alex-and-his-girlfriend Ellen Reed break up then make up episode where all you heard playing was this song:

The episodes are all on youtube - great stuff. But while bumping around on the interwebs looking for it, I came across this review of said tender moment:

p.s. - the love interest in that episode, Tracy Pollan, became his wife in 1988 and they’ve been married ever since - a hollywood rarity.
