Bye Bye, Bowtie

Yo mama's so stupid she thought the board of education was a piece of wood.

The Bowtie Revolution is over. Orville Reddenbocker is gone and his son is MIA. Mr. Peanut hasn’t made any new commercials. and now Tucker Carson
has been canned:

Tucker Carlson firedThe seemingly lone conservative at MSNBC is out of the anchor chair, at least for now. The Associated Press reports that Tucker Carlson’s “Tucker” show on that cable news network has been cancelled. He’ll reportedly be replaced by NBC firebrand David Gregory. Gregory’s show, Race for the White House, begins one week from tonight at 6 p.m.

MSNBC says this and other changes the network is making are in response to the growing demand for more political news. (Gosh, it seems like that is all they do now besides all those prison reality shows and constant repeats of To Catch a Predator.) Other changes announced are that NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell will now permanently anchor one hour a day on MSNBC Monday through Friday and that Countdown With Keith Olbermann will rerun every night at 10 p.m.

Honestly - I don’t see what was so compelling about this guy. He doesn’t bring anything to the table other than his propensity to dress weird and have a conservative viewpoint on a non-conservative network. Anyone schmuck can do that. Perhaps one that dressed decently and brought interesting and thought provoking angles to each story instead of just being a conservative-talking-points parrot.

And, as the article points out, all MSNBC has other than politics is repeats of Dateline. What is the point of MSNBC? Is Microsoft really contributing? Other than Countdown with Keith Olbermann, there’s nothing that I would watch.

As far as the Bowtie Revolution, I guess there’s still Dhani Jones. He took his bowties overseas to play rugby!

Eliot Spitzer? Prostitution? Oh Dear!

Yo mama's so ugly she could scare the chrome off a bumper!

Man - you can only trust them as far as you can throw them, eh? Ol’ “Hang-Em High Spitzer”, champion of Wall Street Justice who parlayed his publicity into running for governor went and
threw it all away:

Eliot spitzerNew York Governor and Democrat Eliot Spitzer may be involved in a prostitution ring Fox news is reporting. The New York governor was involved in the ring according to a report from the New York Times. He was quote involved unquote according to a report from an insider that is on air at CNN.

Governor Elliott Spitzer is married with three daughters. The Times story is breaking so details are sketchy, but the story is a shocker and news broadcasts continue to report that they are stunned because Spitzer is married with children and vowed to clean up corruption when he ran for governor.

It appears that the information is solid as the story has now been published by the New York Times website. Spitzer was elected Governor in November of 2006 with 69% of the vote. He faced Republican John Faso and John Clifton of the Libertarian Party of New York among others. That was considered a mandate but he has struggled at times to get things done.

He is a former attorney general that has actually gone after two prostitution rings in the state. The story will continue to develop all day.

What’s funny is that he apparently went to this “lady of the night” the night before Valentine’s Day. Ooooooh that’s gotta hurt. He should have told CNN that is was just part of his undercover job, or that he was counseling her.

But even better with this is the fact that he was caught using a wire tap. I don’t know if it was granted from a judge, but if it wasn’t - this sure makes you feel good about the wire tapping being used for terrorism. And I’m sure Spitzer being a Democrat had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Still, it’s amazingly and disappointingly hilarious. Valentines Day. Wife and 3 kids. Attorney General.

I’ll be anxiously awaiting his resignation, so that Lieutenant Governor David Patterson can succeed him, becoming the first Black governor in New York history. Yay blacks!

Heat Wade hurtDwayne Wade has been a shell of himself this season after the toll his knee and shoulder injuries from last season took on him. He looked like he tried to come back too quick, but this, along with Shaq’s 4-year itch and Riley’s roster failure combined to make the Heat the worst team in the league, a place they haven’t been since their expansion years. With Shaq gone and a playoff place requiring a miracle, you hoped that D Wade would just shut it down for this year. Well, it looks like it’s finally going to happen.

Heat coach Pat Riley announced Monday that Wade, the All-Star guard and 2006 NBA finals MVP who has battled left knee pain throughout the season, will not play in Miami’s final 21 games this year.

Coach Pat Riley told the Miami Herald that Wade will have a “stimulation treatment” on Tuesday.

“I think it’s time,” Riley told the paper. “We’ve been walking around on eggshells with this thing. This treatment will help him.”

The move was expected, although its timing — with so much of the season still to play — was mildly surprising. But Wade missed Miami’s game against the Golden State Warriors on Friday because of knee stiffness, telling Riley at the time that it pained him just to get out of bed.

Good - this season soooo needs a reboot. Who woulda thought this team would implode so quickly after winning the title 2 years ago. Pat Riley needs to hire a coach and concentrate on building the roster. And D Wade should think about skipping the Olympics too. Ask Yao Ming what year-round basketball does to your health.
