We’ve seen gay escort bloggers given White House press credentials and bathroom stall stings but if this turns out to be true it would be the icing on the cake. The Republican Party may have just added another gay-rights-hating NAMBLA member with the unexplained resignation of Trent Lott … now explained by an apparent gay escort scandal:

The boy happens to be real, and his “stage name” is Benjamin Nicholas. One of the politicos Big Head DC has learned he’s alleged to have been involved with is the married Sen. Trent Lott, 66, who unexpectedly announced his retirement on Monday. Lott is well-known to have been against a plethora of gay rights issues throughout his terms in Congress. He was also good friends with Sen. Larry Craig throughout his time in Congress.

Nicholas told Big Head DC today via e-mail that he didn’t want to go on the record to talk about his dealings with Lott, because, said Nicholas, “Trent is going through his fair share of scrutiny right now and I don’t want to add to it.” However, e-mail and other records confirm that the two have met on at least two occasions.

The best part about it is that it may have been the work of none other than Hustler’s Larry Flynt:

After struggling all day yesterday, Redskins safety Sean Taylor died this morning from his wounds after a shooting in his home Monday.

Taylor “did not make it through the night;” his femoral artery had been severed, and the bleeding “could not be stopped, just curbed.”

This is the second Hurricane shot to death in two years. Just tragic. To me it doesn’t look like a random act of violence - the previous burglary 8 days prior found a knife left on his bed. Imagine what might have happened if his girlfriend and 18 month old daughter were there alone. Anyway, as KSK says “let’s remember Taylor for what he was between the lines: namely a fearsome, ball-hawking hit machine that left a swath of crumpled receivers in his wake.” To that end:

Hmm - forget about internationalizing the NFL to London, the Buffalo Bills might be taking their game to Canada, eh? - at least only one game to start:

The CFL’s new commissioner thinks the NFL wants a team in Toronto, and he wants a piece of the action. Not sure what makes Mark Cohon think the NFL will be eager to align with the CFL.

I think the NFL is interested in expanding into Canada, but it would rather wait a couple of seasons and see what type of support Bills games will draw in Toronto.

The league will only reach out to the CFL if it’s deemed absolutely necessary.

What I want to know is - if the NFL expands to at least one Canadian town, will we ever see cross-league games - using CFL rules - like we do in basketball? For all the North American glory? Probably not. Probably have to settle for a flag football game between the Bills and the Argonauts. But I would like to see someone challenge the NCAA as the NFL’s official feeder league.

Anyways, congratulations to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for winning the 2007 CFL Grey Cup (the 95th edition) 23-19 over their Labour Day and Banjo Bowl opponents the Winnepeg Blue Bombers. I’m sure the MVP and the MVC (Most Valuable Canadian) will be flush with endorsement offers soon.
