Ghida Fakhry, The Next Rudi Bakhtiar?

What is it with the news babes of Middle Eastern descent? Ghida Fakhry is the latest – she works for Al Jazeera English – a station Al Jazeera started over her to dispel the myths of bias in reporting (You know – like actually covering the Jena 6 story before Al Sharpton got involved). And It seems I’m not alone in my admiration:

She makes Katie Couric look like a two-dollar crack whore. (Actually, Katie Couric makes Katie Couric look like a two-dollar crack whore.) Too bad American cable providers won’t carry the channel. You’ll have to watch this clip from The Daily Show to truly appreciate her jaw-dropping, tongue-lolling beauty. Stay away from her though. She’s mine!

She follows in the footsteps of my former #1, Rudi Bakhtiar – who was a staple in the overnight coverage on CNN Headline News. Her perfect pronunciation of Arabic and Persian names and her bouncy delivery made me tune in and turn on … or something. Where are you now, Rudi?

Unfortunately, due in part to fear, Al Jazeera English’s “biased” reporting isn’t available on most digital cable systems in the US, or on the little dishes, but apparently can be pulled down using a big dish. Clips are also available on Youtube, including this lovely one of lovely Ghida:
